Why exercise for wellbeing?


Cycling is my ‘meditation in motion’, for you it could be walking, running or playing a sport.

With cycling your awareness and concentration have to be set on the road or trail ahead as well as keeping the bike moving. I find that it creates space for my mind to put all of the day in order. My subconscious working to file all my thoughts away.

When I return home I have clarity of thought and purpose which extends to the rest of my day.

There are a number of benefits of taking regular exercise or simply getting outdoors for 15 minutes.

  1. It promotes a creative mindset and opens you up to new ideas
  2. It can boost your energy, giving you more time for the things that you want to do
  3. Better sleep which will ensure more energy for the actions you want to take
  4. Increases concentration enabling you to fix your effort on the task at hand
  5. When taking on a physical challenge it creates an opportunity to push your boundaries and show how resilient you really are
  6. Playing a team sport gives you an instant tribe with whom to share your journey with and help champion you

This is why I encourage a Fit Life – one where you can find the freedom to get outside, do what you love and take control. What will it take to put life back in your day?
